Pop Lea

Popléa is the pseudonym of a French artist based in Paris who has chosen anonymity in order to preserve complete creative freedom. Behind this identity is a figure recognized in the museum world, still professionally involved with two international institutions, but wishing to keep this activity separate from her personal work.

For several years, Popléa has devoted her research to kinetic art. Following in the footsteps of Yaacov Agam and Patrick Rubinstein, she has developed a radically personal language based on hand-assembled collages, slats, and reliefs. Without a motor, screen, or any electronic device, her paintings come alive: only the viewer’s movement causes images to appear, disappear, and transform.

Each piece is a unique creation, entirely conceived and made in the studio. It represents the culmination of several years of research, investment, and rare technical mastery. Owning a work by Popléa means entering an exclusive visual universe, far removed from conventional art forms, and acquiring a pioneering creation whose singularity may one day open the doors to major collections and museums.
