Thiha Aung – Artist Biography

Thiha Aung is a self-taught watercolor and Acrylic artist known for his expressive cityscapes that capture the essence and atmosphere of urban life. Born in November 1991 in Myanmar, he pursued civil engineering at a technology university before dedicating himself to his passion for painting.

With a signature loose watercolor style, Thiha masterfully portrays the vibrancy and charm of cities, evoking emotion through light, movement, and color. During his time in Singapore, he was an active member of the Singapore Urban Sketching Group and the Singapore Watercolour Society, refining his artistic voice within a dynamic creative community.

Now based in Montreal, Thiha continues his artistic journey, participating in monthly urban sketching outings and immersing himself in the city’s architectural beauty. His Montreal cityscape paintings have resonated with collectors and art enthusiasts, finding homes across the city and beyond.

Through his work, Thiha strives to preserve fleeting urban moments, transforming everyday scenes into captivating watercolor compositions that tell stories of life, culture, and movement.
