Borislav Kamarashev

Born on December 13, 1979, in Troyan, Bulgaria.
My education is not in the arts, but due to the fact that I live in a small mountain town located in the Central Balkan, I have become sensitive and inclined to prefer natural materials—especially wood! I draw inspiration from the nature that surrounds me—beautiful, wild, with incredible views.
My sculptures are made from various types of wood such as acacia, walnut, oak, hawthorn, and beech. I am inspired by the natural forms of the wood.
I collect my materials mainly from the forest and the river (water roots of already decayed trees), which I then clean and process. For the finishing of the sculptures, I also use natural materials such as wax made from home-produced beeswax and natural oils.
I have been practicing this type of art for about 7–8 years.
My works are part of collections in Germany, Mallorca, Spain, and other places.
