Lee Tunila

Lee Tunila is a Georgia-born artist whose work centers around the human form, particularly the nude figure. Her inspiring work invites viewers to consider the beauty and complexity of the human figure. Lee’s paintings are inspired by the human form and the ability to use her imagination to see beyond the realistic. No body is ever perfectly proportioned, why should the body in a painting be? Lee’s nudes are abstract and always evolving. Each painting is layer upon layer - working and reworking - deciding what to keep and what to destroy. She is mostly self-taught with many inspirational people and fellow artists in her life. What Lee loves about art is that every time she picks up a paintbrush, she continues to learn and grow. Always. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes it's hard. Sometimes it's utterly confusing, and then it's resolved.
