Paul Wood is an English Sculptor now back on the Greek island of Corfu after several years working as Stonemason in Germany. He makes hand carved sculptures in wood and stone, prefering to work with locally found materials. Often these materials are from recycled sources. His work is mainly figurative, and explores the sensual nature of both the material and the human body.
Paul studied at Loughborough College of Art, in England between 1979 and 1983. He learnt to carve stone around the age of seven, from his neighbour, a retired Stonemason, and was taught Woodcarving a couple of years later by his uncle.
