Irina Mitaenko

Hey, I'm Irina Mitaenko. An artist with a passion for creativity and a strong connection between art and science. Twenty-five years ago, I left Moscow and moved to Germany. Besides my profession as a trained physicist, art is the second driving force in my life.

Art has fascinated me since childhood and never lets go of me. I've even pondered how many hours of my life I've dedicated to art - the result is simply countless. For me, art is not only what I create but also what I see, think about, read, learn, discuss, and experience. I enjoy traveling to London, New York, or Berlin to visit inspiring exhibitions, and my collection of art books is my refuge into the world of creativity. The search for my own artistic identity can be compared to scientific research. Over the years, I've learned from various masters and experimented, fueled by my curiosity and the urge to continually push the boundaries of my creativity.

It fills me with joy to know that others share my perspectives, and many of my works have found their place in private collections.

I studied physics – but my true education took place in the studio. For over 20 years, I’ve been learning through hands-on artistic work: in close exchange with various artists and mentors, in solitude with materials, in the process of experimentation. My approach is intuitive and exploratory – a continuous cycle of trying, observing, reflecting, and starting over. This is how my artistic path has evolved: not through formal training, but as a deep, personal journey of discovery.
