I would like to convey to the world that these artworks are more than paintings; they are vessels of consciousness, reflecting socio-political currents through the subtle language of material culture. These designs evokes a dynamic interplay between emotion and logic, with careful attention to materials. Across her oeuvre, Victoire communicates the unspoken dimensions of the subconscious, fragmenting forms into multiple counterparts and negotiating the fragile balance between control and organic expression. Her artistry is a delicate negotiation between structure and fluidity, tradition and innovation, material and imagination. Through abstraction, he probes the infinite—space, time, eternity, and creation—inviting the viewer into a dialogue with the intangible.
Art incorporates a sense of energy and dynamism. There is a sense of balance, stability, and movement through her use of brushstrokes, and this is highlighted through two central themes the "human" and "universe”. There are certain elements where the paint morphs in distinct ways as it moves away from the central frame. Her paintings are influenced by movements such as suprematism, neoplasticism, and abstract expressionism. She creates the question of the space-time contin...
I am a British artist, and art historian. I specialized in global art markets, contemporary art valuation, collecting strategies, and digital sales platforms. This academic trajectory reflects a strong combination of contemporary art expertise, commercial market insight, and legal understanding relevant to the global and digitally driven art marketplace. Since visiting and studying Chihuly Garden and Glass, I have been deeply inspired and have developed a better pursuit of art.
I have completed my artist training at Sotheby's Institute of Art. Since 2017, I have been working part-time for Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal. I worked on project basis for Les Editions Esse on the 10th edition and 11th edition of Vendu-Sold which focus on contemporary art and multidisciplinary practices. Vendu-Sold is a yearly prestigious event which offers collectors the opportunity to acquire high quality artworks by renowned and emerging Canadian artists. During the auctions, I helped organize categories for the artwork by Kent Monkman. I was especially pleased to have had the opportunity to personally hold Kent Monkman’s work on stage during the auction and meet a number of emerging Canadian First Nations artists.
Victoire is the recipient of Sky Landscape Artist of the Year award in her landscape paintings in the category of "wild card. She has various solo and group exhibitions. Her awards include winning first place in Francis Holland Regents Park, and the first place in McGill Visual Arts Society (VAS) in the category “Wild” which depicts natural scenic setting. She has received various awards for her paintings.
Artist's statement on her ongoing research:
I love to include philosophical theories into an art form which modulates more than what a rational mind would bring into understanding. As learnt from old masters, I want my paintings to shape fantasies of the audience’s imagination and create a profusion of hybrid possibilities for the mind.
Our best account of what the universe is like comes from science. But science makes no place for the things we care most about: emotion, beauty, “meaning,” and much else. Why exactly these things seem to be incompatible with science and logic; whether there is a way to “re-create” them philosophically; or whether we have to accept that some of the things we hold most dear are figments of what we desire. My research will explore these and related questions by examining the boundary between s...
