Rich Godfrey returned his focus to painting in 2021 after a graphic design career spanning more than 40 years in Atlanta and New York. Since then he's had rapid success as a fine artist — a 2025 Balentine Prize finalist at the Atlanta Art Fair, a solo show at Atlanta Tech Village's Sylvan Gallery, and paintings placed with collectors both nationally and internationally.
He owned the award-winning design firm FUSE, whose clients included IBM, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, UPS, Emory University, and Emory Healthcare. Earlier, while at Copeland Design, he designed the presentation for Atlanta's successful Olympic and Super Bowl bids. His distinctive design style earned him a place among 39 designers profiled in the book Radical Graphics, Graphic Radicals, alongside figures who have shaped design and advertising campaigns worldwide.
Rich lives and works in Columbus, Georgia, with his partner Kim, drawn to — and now part of — the city's vibrant, close-knit art community.
