My artistic experiences have been erratic but I have always been creative. However, over the years, my creativity shifted back and forth between crafts, business, and art.

When I was younger, my only art classes were during junior and senior high school. After that, I drew occasionally and worked with crafts. I eventually learned how to paint a little with acrylics but never felt particularly creative with that medium. It wasn't until I saw a boldly colorful watercolor painting in a store that I realized watercolor had to be in my future.

Several years passed while I was busy with my consulting business and I had very little time to do anything else. As I was preparing to retire, I knew the time had arrived to fulfill my dream of learning how to paint with watercolors. My first online class was at the end of 2022 and, since then, I've taken part in numerous online and video classes.

While I'm not sure I have an actual style (yet), I have experimented a lot and find I am attracted to certain methods and subjects. I enjoy using unexpected bold colors, the occasional challenge of a very limited palette, and creating clusters of objects that might make others go a bit crazy.
