Ashley Mckeever

Hi, I’m Ashley McKeever—artist, explorer of design, and observer of the spaces we often overlook.

I’m drawn to both the built and the natural world—architecture and landscape—and the emotional resonance they hold. I paint structures not just for their shapes or shadows, but for their stories. A building can represent pride, nostalgia, progress, or even personal struggle. It can mean “home” to someone in the same way a skyline signals identity. My work highlights those layers—translating concrete and steel into something deeply human.

My journey started in McCook, Nebraska, a small town where sports were the main form of expression and art was more instinct than opportunity. But a borrowed oil painting kit, a few influential teachers, and a hunger to explore beyond what I knew pushed me toward a life in art. Today, I combine traditional techniques with modern tools like Photoshop to build compositions that blend form, history, and feeling. Whether it’s the curve of the Chrysler Building or a small-town structure under renovation, I’m fascinated by how design speaks louder when you stop to really see it.
