"I am forever a Greenlander in my heart, wherever I live, and I always loved wide open spaces, vivid colors, and bold motives. But, although, I find inspiration in Greenlandic motives, I also enjoy experimenting with different techniques, styles, and textures.
Therefore, my art varies from abstract to decorative and detailed paintings. Every piece I make is the product of my imagination, be it a woman's face, a landscape, or a folk tale motive inspired painting.
My main material is acrylic paint and varnish, however, I love to experiment with different textures. Quite a few of my pieces are made on compressed wood boards which give the motives quite a unique texture and character."

Pele Madsen was born and raised in Greenland's capital Nuuk where he first discovered professional art with the help of a Canadian artist Gary Berteig at the age of 25.

After twenty-six years of life in his home country, Pele left to explore the wider horizons, first settling in Copenhagen, Denmark with one goal in mind - to create art. Not long after, with like-minded people, he started a studio where they could learn fr om each other and inspire each other's creativity.
