Divine Quarshie

My practice explores the intersection of abstract representation and tactile structuralism. I specialize in creating high-relief 3D wall sculptures and paintings that bridge the gap between traditional canvas and physical architecture. My work is deeply rooted in the themes of internal energy, transformation, and the complexities of self-identification within the framework of family and heritage.

Driven by a fascination with organic textures, I utilize a meticulous technical process to give my work its signature depth. By manipulating materials like styrofoam, plaster, and fine sand, I build undulating forms that feel both ancient and contemporary. These sculptures are often finished with unique patinas, such as gunmetal and earthy oxides, and are presented in floating frames to emphasize their presence as objects of meditation.

Each series—from the rhythmic patterns of Tribal Echoes to the balanced compositions of Stacked Serenity—serves as a visual dialogue between stasis and movement. My goal is to capture the "invisible" forces of human connection and personal evolution, transforming these abstract concepts into a physical reality that collectors can experience through both sight and shadow.
