Massimo Gardone is an Italian photographer born in Genoa and raised in Palermo. In Trieste, he founded Azimut Photo. Massimo is a visual artist who uses photography as an expressive and meditative tool, going beyond mere objective representation. His research focuses primarily on flowers and the sea, subjects treated as archetypes and transformed into visual universes that invite a deep and original interpretation.
Through a creative process that combines analog techniques (8×10 Polaroid SX-70 format) and digital tools, Gardone experiments with shapes, colors, and textures to bring to life works that stimulate a profound and sensory perception of the image. In his work, craftsmanship merges with technical experimentation and precision, creating a kind of “alchemy of the image” that also originates from the use of different materials and supports. Gardone does not simply take photographs; he constructs visual narratives that integrate nature and abstraction, inviting the viewer to an emotional dialogue with the artwork.
His artistic practice is characterized by a balance between rigor and eclecticism, capable of transferring his vision even into commercial fields and in harmony with the world of design, enriching them with unexpecte...
Massimo Gardone began his artistic education with a particular focus on music and the cello. Later, he developed a passion for photography, attending numerous workshops that allowed him to deepen his knowledge of different techniques and visual languages. Among these, one in particular left a profound mark: the course with Giovanni Gastel. During this experience, his passion for still life and the use of large-format Polaroid (8x10) was born, a medium he mastered with great skill.
Before 2000, Gardone approached digital photography, combining analog and digital techniques to expand his expressive possibilities. Alongside still photography, he also dedicated himself to moving images, directing music videos for prominent Italian artists such as Alice, thus demonstrating a creative versatility that spans different media and visual languages.
