Olga Mahova

An artist from Ukraine, currently based in Poland.
My artistic practice centers around the pursuit of visual richness and aesthetic intensity — I strive to create work that feels both sensuous and vivid, in every sense of the word.

Whether painting symbolic fruit compositions or exploring the human form, I maintain a consistent focus on expressive color, physical presence, and emotional depth. While my current work is primarily figurative, both series reflect a personal visual language marked by boldness and sensuality.

I work primarily in acrylic and oil painting. Through color, lighting, and the positioning of forms, I aim to evoke emotion — not as a literal narrative, but as something visceral and immediate. My process often involves glazing techniques, where I build up transparent layers to achieve depth and luminosity. I intentionally preserve fragments of these layers in the final work to retain the clarity and intensity of pure color. Rather than blending brushstrokes, I place them deliberately — letting form emerge through texture, rhythm, and the physical presence of the painted surface.

Graduate of the Graphic Arts Department of the Kyiv Academy of Fine Arts (diploma under the supervision of prof. O. Petrenko-Zanewski, 2015). Graduate of the Graphic Arts Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts Vistula (2017).
