RYAN DUK (b. 1997, Nairobi, Kenya)
Ryan Duk is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist based in Nairobi, Kenya. His work exists at the intersection of movement, minimalism, and controlled chaos , often drawing from inner discipline, lived intensity, and a desire to distill emotion into form. Rooted in a personal ethos of growth, clarity, and edge, his practice explores the body as both a vessel and symbol: of effort, survival, and transformation.

With a background shaped as much by physical training as by visual experimentation, Ryan approaches painting with an athletic rigor, layering texture, geometry, and energetic mark-making into powerful, often abstract compositions. His style echoes expressionism and African spiritual modernity, while remaining stripped-down, deliberate, and visceral.

Driven by intuition, silence, and observation, Ryan creates one-of-one pieces that invite stillness and presence. “Each canvas is a confrontation,” he notes. “A mirror of who I am , not just as an artist, but as a man building discipline, edge, and control in a noisy world.”
