Giuseppe Burlando

In the late '80s, I was passionately immersed in the world of black and white photography. During this time, I experimented with my own developing formulas to achieve unique grayscale tones, stunning details, and rich contrasts that reveal the hidden messages around us and express a language of light and shadow of outlines and forms. My work has been showcased in notable exhibitions in Rome, including “Geometrie di Luci ed Ombre” at Palazzo Barberini in 1989; and “Naiadi” at the Circolo Internazionale di Brera in 1990. I experimented chemical formulas adding color tones and painting over the silver prints with oil colors. The photographs here presented are all from that era and all from black and white film; some of the photographs are more recently digitally painted from the original black and white, like the ones painted with oil colors in the 80’s.
