Hans Rabén (b.1965)

I received my photography education at the Folkuniversitetet 1988, GFU, Stockholm, Sweden and the Folkuniversitetet 1993-1994, Fotoskolan, Uppsala, Sweden.

With my focus on natural and urban landscapes as well as flower portraits, I have been exhibiting in Stockholm since 2017.

With landscape photography it is often a characteristic light that attracts. The time after the sunset during the transition from day to night when the landscape is lit by the soft afterglow on the sky has always awaken the photographer in me.

I often return to portraying flowers. The beauty of flowers fascinates and inspires me and with a photo I can capture the fleeting moment of its life. Every flower becomes an individual in its own right that awakens wonder and respect - made of earth, air, water and light it becomes a work of art in itself.

In my recent work Grenverk I have chosen to present a series of trees, portrayed with their root systems. My goal has been to present trees that can be interpreted as both an inner and an outer landscape.
The Swedish titel Grenverk translates to Branchworks meaning the art of tree branches.
