Lia Kohen

Kohen is a self-taught artist originally from Russia, living and working in Turkey since 1996. Passionate about drawing since childhood, she graduated from art school and has always been involved in visual arts — first as a stylist, then as an interior designer.
She began painting during her time as a designer, creating commissioned pieces for private interiors. Today, many of her works are part of private collections in Russia and Turkey. Lia’s paintings are known for their vibrant color palettes, bold patterns, and intuitive fusion of techniques — reflecting both emotional spontaneity and design precision.
She finds freedom in the act of painting, drawing inspiration from abstraction, psychedelic surrealism, geometry, and the organic forms of nature. Alongside her work on canvas, Lia creates digital sketches in Procreate, using digital tools as both a sketchbook and an expressive medium in their own right.
Her art radiates light and warmth — sometimes with a touch of playful naivety. Above all, Lia aims to share sincere, joyful emotions. Sometimes, she simply wants her art to make you smile.
