Hamilton Becerra

Hamilton Becerra is a French-Venezuelan photographer and multimedia artist whose work blends visual poetry, ecological reflection, and sensory exploration. Born in Venezuela and raised between Caracas and Paris, his dual cultural background deeply informs his artistic vision, where tropical nature meets urban density, mythology meets modernity.

Trained at the École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (ESRA), he began his career as a cinematographer and director, working with acclaimed studios (Ushuaïa TV, Première Heure, Darjeeling, Zorba) across music videos, documentaries, animation, and advertising.

His personal photography practice is rooted in allegory, symbolism, and natural light. His award-winning series We Are All Animals, hybrid portraits exploring anthropomorphism and the vanishing of wildlife, won the Gold Medal in Photography at the Salon National des Beaux-Arts (Carrousel du Louvre, 2016).

Inspired by mythology, ritual, and the sacred, Becerra explores the image in motion and stillness, analog, digital, and experimental. His current project Les Nimbus, a hybrid 2D animation series co-produced with Special Touch Studios, bridges ecological storytelling and visual poetry.
