Rina Abbas

Egyptian architect and visual artist based in Alexandria, a coastal city where memory, history, and light intertwine. My work is shaped by a deep sensitivity to space not just how it looks, but how it feels. Whether through architectural design, painting, or photography, I am drawn to the emotional weight of form, silence, and structure.

With a background in architecture, I see buildings not only as functional spaces but as vessels of atmosphere, identity, and untold stories. My artistic practice often explores the in-between: the space between shadow and light, stillness and movement, presence and absence. Much of my inspiration comes from the quiet poetry of urban landscapes, especially those that carry traces of time, erosion, and solitude.

Photography is an essential part of how I observe the world. My architectural photographs are more than documentation they are moments of reflection, fragments of memory, and visual meditations on the language of form. I aim to create work that invites stillness and intimacy, that speaks softly but lingers.
