When people see my creations, I want them to FEEL the energy of each, not to just see the images!
My love of nature and all her glorious colors, shadows and textures is the inspiration for my art. I’m a born and raised Texan and have always appreciated the big outdoors. My family traveled a lot where I fell in love with other landscapes, fauna & flora. I also embrace photography and how the camera captures the light, shadows and texture in nature and in manmade objects.
The colors, shadows and movement in the world around us are so vibrant and exciting. My paintings are often based on my photos from travels and local sights. I paint with acrylics, oils and watercolor on canvases, wood and found objects. I also make Lino block carvings which I hand press the Lino-prints in limited editions.
Painting I use a combination of brushes and pallet knives trying to capture my favorite subjects: water and the way natural light plays off the ocean, creeks, ponds and rivers. Plants also provide a wide rainbow of color, shapes, shadows and textures as painting inspirations. The possibilities are endless but always exciting!
