John Opera

John Opera I am an abstract expressionist painter and sculptor known for dynamic compositions and innovative use of materials. My work explores the interplay of form, color, and texture, often blurring the boundaries between styles. Drawing from both intuitive and conceptual approaches, I create visceral, layered pieces that evoke emotional and psychological depth. My practice engages with the legacy of mid-century nude abstraction while pushing it into modern contemporary gender identity dialogue. I have a strong work ethic that resulted in a portfolio of over 2000 abstract and surrealist nude paintings and over 300 statue designs. Exhibited in galleries and art fairs in Canada and Europe earning recognition for bold, experimental vision. I live and work in Canada.
