Sophie Safinowska

I paint what cannot be said — emotions, memories, and the human body as a source of meaning and presence. My work is based on observation and a deep interest in how we express ourselves beyond words. With every brushstroke, I try to capture something honest — tension, stillness, connection.

My artistic journey began at the Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, within the Institute of Fashion Design. There, surrounded by fabric and the rhythm of sewing machines, I discovered that my true language was paint. I traded textiles for canvas, thread for brushstrokes — dedicating myself fully to the study of the human form and its emotional resonance.

Each painting is an attempt to connect — to reflect something real, intimate, and deeply human.
