Meryem Gunana

I am an artist whose work focuses on the philosophy of Wahdat al-Wujud (Unity of Existence). My art is fundamentally strengthened by integrating Eastern and Western philosophies in my creative process. I also have articles published in peer-reviewed journals that support the artworks I create.

Furthermore, I teach painting to mentally and physically challenged adults to help them grasp art and its essence. Exhibiting the artworks that emerge from these classes deepens my gratitude towards art.

I'm pursuing a PhD in art history.

2017: Assistant 'Remember' exhibition.

2019: Participated with the artwork 'Cracks of the God House' in the exhibition 'What the House Remembers: An Image Lesson,' curated at Bozlu Art Project.

November 2023: Exhibition opening for 'Ada Meetings 2: In the Name of Public Art' by Ada Art Initiative at Büyükada Cemevi.

2024: Solo exhibition 'Compass and Others' opening at UPSD Art Gallery.

September 2024: 'Istanbul's Polyphonic Neighborhood: Fener' Symposium and Exhibition at Kaffa Miro Art Gallery.

November 2024: 'Tooth and Dream' exhibition at the Dental Health Museum.

November 2024: IAAF Signature Art Gallery exhibition.

April 2025: Exhibition 'My Fables from Kalila and Dimna' at Dolmabahçe Palace Painting Museum, Hüseyin Zekai Paşa Exhibition Hall, as exhibition coordinator and instructor for adults with spastic, intellectual, and physical disabilities from the Metin Sabancı Care and Rehabilitation Center.

May 2025: Exhibition within the Dental Health Museum at DİŞSİAD IDEX FAIR.

May 2025: Opened the 3rd solo exhibition 'Encounters of Faith, Medicine, and Art' at the Dental Health Museum.
