RECOGNITION
Ifeoluwa Oliver Akinbobola, known professionally as Ifeoluwa Oliver, is a self-taught visual artist born in Ondo, Nigeria. Raised in a culturally rich yet socially complex environment, his work reflects a deep engagement with the emotional undercurrents of African life—its struggles, histories, and hopes.
Working primarily through symbolic and emotionally charged painting, Ifeoluwa explores themes of survival, generational trauma, and African identity. His art is inspired by oral traditions, political history, and the silent struggles of everyday people, creating powerful visual narratives that are both deeply personal and socially resonant.
Ifeoluwa’s work has been exhibited at the House of George Gallery and life in my city art festival where his compelling use of symbolism and story-driven compositions has drawn attention to their emotional and cultural depth.
He is currently developing a powerful body of work that interrogates inherited burdens, the fragility of freedom, and the unseen ghosts of history that continue to shape African lives.
