Chrysoula Vakoufari Della

I am a Greek artist specializing in Byzantine iconography, blending tradition with timeless technique. Trained under renowned iconographer Konstantinos Georgopoulos, I create sacred works using natural materials and aging methods that honor centuries of artistic heritage. My icons are featured in churches and private collections across Greece, and I’ve exhibited both nationally and internationally, including solo shows in Piraeus and Rhodes in 2024. My work has been recognized in publications and honored by the historic Parnassos Literary Society for its artistic contribution.

The culmination of my iconographic training was my apprenticeship with the internationally acclaimed iconographer and painter Konstantinos Georgopoulos—a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts and a long-standing collaborator of the Ministry of Culture. Under his mentorship, I acquired advanced knowledge and techniques, particularly in the traditional method of icon aging using natural materials that have proven their durability over centuries.

In 2023, I took part in the exhibition “Art of Icons 2023”, organized by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.

Under the auspices of the Municipality of Piraeus, a solo exhibition of my work was held at the Municipal Art Gallery of the city in May 2024.

Following an invitation from the art organization “Pheidias”, another solo exhibition was organized in Rhodes during June–July 2024. The event was held under the auspices of the Region of the Dodecanese, the Municipality of Rhodes, and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Rhodes, part of the Ministry of Culture.
For this purpose, the historic De Milly Armory—designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site—was granted for a 30-day exhibition period.

In 2025, I participated in the annual Panhellenic Art Competition organized by the historic Philological Association “Parnassos”, where I was awarded Third Prize.
