Svetlana Georgitsopoulou

I am a contemporary classical oil painter whose work explores the poetry of light, memory, and place. Trained in the traditions of academic realism, I create paintings that celebrate the quiet beauty of nature, historic architecture, and sacred spaces.

Originally from Russia and now living and working in Cyprus, I draw inspiration from the changing atmosphere of the Mediterranean, the timeless landscapes of Northern Europe, and the spiritual heritage of Orthodox Christianity. Rather than simply recording a scene, I seek to capture its emotional presence—the moment when light transforms an ordinary landscape into an unforgettable experience.

Working exclusively in oil, I build each painting through multiple transparent layers, creating rich colour, luminous depth, and lasting permanence. My artistic philosophy combines careful observation with emotional interpretation, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the beauty of the natural world.

My paintings are held in private collections internationally and are created for collectors who appreciate craftsmanship, authenticity, and timeless realism.
