Tejaswini Joshi

I am an ethnographer and abstract expressionist working in acrylic impasto. My practice, which I call reflexive impasto, is both research and ritual. I use palette knives and my hands to paint and to let the body speak in texture. Every canvas is a one-of-a-kind fieldnote: sometimes violent rupture, sometimes quiet bloom, always sovereign. My works are designed not to decorate, but to transform walls into altars.
