ABOUT
California-based painter whose work explores the psychological and emotional perseption of landscape rather than its literal appearance. Influenced by the shifting environments of the California coast and wilderness, the paintings examine how nature becomes a mirror for internal states of mind, emotions and suppressed shadow sides.
Rather than documenting specific places, Akole approaches landscape as a field of perception—something fluid, unstable, and shaped by memory from the old dream.
The work investigates the illusion of how we experience the surrounding world. The landscapes that appear are not fixed environments but psychological spaces where perception softens and time feels suspended.
Through muted atmospheres and contemplative compositions, Akole attempts to evoke a state similar to dreaming—one that invites self-reflection and the acceptance of hidden, darker emotions that often remain beneath the surface of everyday awareness.
