Daniela Balmaverde

I am an Italian-born artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. My work explores the contrasts that shape human experience: light and shadow, instinct and intention, the figurative and the abstract. Each painting reflects a dialogue between the natural world and my inner landscape, often blending memory, imagination, and emotion.

Influenced by Fauvism and Impressionism, I use bold colour and expressive brushwork to create dreamlike, poetic compositions that celebrate femininity and the subconscious. I aim to invite viewers to pause, reflect, and find a personal connection within the work.

I have been studying in the Netherlands and Italy, where I obtained a degree in Fine Arts. I am a member of the USWA and UWS. I regularly run painting workshops and classes.

My paintings have been exhibited widely in Northern Ireland and are held in private and public collections internationally.
