For me, the image holds sacred, iconographic value. The foundation of my work is built on a perspective that seeks to explore the powerful and confident presence of women in society, utilizing the collage technique. I focus on images of women who are bold, self-aware, and at peace with their identity and gender, free from the pressure of societal roles, to strengthen their place in the collective memory. My work centers on the evolution of women in society from past to present, the pressures they face in their individual worlds, and their struggle for existence, reflecting their journey of discovering their own strength, embracing emotional wounds, and moving away from societal expectations.

The collage technique, which I specifically use in my works, creates a research space where possibilities and experimentation take center stage, exploring emotional associations. In these collages, which depict the repressed, unexpressed side of women that seems to be in a trance, various secondary elements come together to evoke different associations for different individuals: fragments of old paper featuring notes that highlight the aesthetics of calligraphy, texture-emphasizing elements, sections of the body, and female figures usually lac...

Ayşe Koşak completed her master's degree in Cultural Management at Istanbul Bilgi University, where her thesis critically analyzed the "Conservative Art Discourse" within the context of AKP's cultural policy, focusing on the Yeditepe Biennial. Her interest in art was shaped during her studies at Boğaziçi University, where she took courses on Byzantine, Renaissance, and Islamic art. She also participated in the Erasmus program at Ca' Foscari University in Italy, conducting research on art history, particularly focusing on the artworks in the Venice and Veneto regions.

In her career, she has worked as a gallery coordinator and art consultant at Mine Art Gallery, where she organized exhibitions, collaborated with new artists and galleries, prepared press releases, and shooting the photos and the videos of the exhibitions. She also organized cultural and art workshops for both children and adults. Ayşe has actively participated in various art exhibitions and workshops, including sculpture and art exhibitions at the Tekirdağ Saray Cultural Festival and Bogazici University's Hülya Art Workshop.
