Born in France in 1970, Emmanuel Bihr is a self-taught photographer whose passion for this art was revealed in 1990 upon discovering the work of Robert Doisneau and Henri Cartier-Bresson. Initially equipped with an analog camera and a darkroom, Emmanuel has maintained the traditional grain of film photography for his digital work. Although he pursued engineering studies in Germany and built a career in the automotive industry, his commitment to photography has remained unwavering. His photographs are instantaneous and unexpected shots, primarily depicting everyday life of street and landscape, usually rendered in striking black and white. While his images remained in the drawers for many years, Emmanuel is only now beginning to share them, exhibit and participate in photography competitions, finally offering his long-held visual perspective to a wider audience.
My Approach to Photography:
For me, the heart of photography is all about diversity, imperfection, and dreams.
