Linda Ali

My work explores the psychological depth of human experience through contemporary expressionist portraiture. I am interested in the tension between internal emotion and outward identity, where the visible self often conceals a more complex inner reality.

Working with acrylic on canvas, I use color, distortion, and layered brushwork to construct figures that exist between abstraction and representation. Rather than pursuing realism, I focus on emotional presence—allowing form to emerge through gesture, intuition, and movement.

Themes of vulnerability, duality, and transformation are central to my practice. Each painting reflects an internal dialogue shaped by memory, pressure, and resilience.

My work has been exhibited at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia.
