Self-taught painter using oil and acrylic techniques
Artistic Biography ‒ Mauro Benvenuto
Mauro Benvenuto is a self-taught artist who lives and works in Scala Coeli, Calabria, Italy. For
years, he has explored the expressive possibilities of acrylic painting on canvas, using palette
knife and brush to translate deep emotions into visual form.
His works emerge from the encounter between gesture and intuition: intense colors, textured
layers, and spontaneous movements merge into a language that oscillates between abstraction and
inner landscape. Through the palette knife, he creates vibrant surfaces where matter becomes a
vehicle for a personal exploration of silence, freedom, and emotion.
For Mauro Benvenuto, color does not merely represent reality ‒ it reinvents it. Each canvas is a
place of stillness and tension, where the viewer is invited to pause, breathe, and rediscover a
fragment of themselves.
Over the years, he has participated in several group and solo exhibitions, building a coherent and
recognizable artistic path. His research continues to evolve, guided by instinct and the desire to
express what cannot be said in words.
