Irina Pavlenko (Irisha), an artist from Russia, living in Thailand. In her artistic practice, Irina explores the limits of the figurative genre. She actualizes the old pictorial tradition in new systems of knowledge , сombines an academic base and an illustrative approach. The subject of her research is self-awareness and self-identity.
Irina takes inspiration from personal recollections and sourse imagery, delving into interplay between reality memory and imagination. She accentuate the presence of the silent interlocutor outside the canvas using paint’s material qualities and colors expressive potential to evoke the hazy elusive sensation of remembrance.
In a world where technology and consumerism reign, she wants her paintings to reflect our universal human desire to be alive and real. In them, the artist strives to capture and convey what makes us human, to emphasize the importance of preserving our own uniqueness.
Irisha got an academic background in drawing and painting in the art workshop of Sergei Pavlov (a graduate of the V.I. Surikov Institute and a teacher at the S.G. Stroganov Academy) ) and after that her free float in the art world began. Now Irina is a member of the Professional Union of Artists of RF.
Over the past 10 years, she has tried herself in various areas of creativity, including 3D graphics and 2D illustration. But nevertheless, painting has always been her unchanging love.
The artist began to paint in early childhood, but life turned out so that due to an injury, Irina forgot about the brush for 10 long years. And only after graduating from the History Department of Moscow State University, she returned to painting again with new life experience, knowledge and a strong desire to become an artist and make it her profession for the rest of life. Despite the fact that Irina has only recently begun her professional career, she is already actively involved in exhibition activities, participating in international competitions, and her paintings are in private collections in the UK, America and Spain.
