Iana Mart

I am Iana Mart, an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Los Angeles.
My practice explores fragility and vulnerability—not as a weakness, but as a source of strength and inner transformation. I investigate themes of personal and social vulnerability—including gender inequality and the immigrant experience—alongside subtle, sensory states such as silence, light, anticipation, and the threshold between dream and waking.
Utilizing analog and digital photography, as well as three-dimensional mixed-media objects, I emphasize that the medium only serves to communicate the core idea or emotional state. Through the considered use of light, color, symbols, and a naïve aesthetic, I create images that speak without words—connecting directly through sensation and feeling.
