Jeremy Jones is a London based artist whose work merges expressive abstraction with nostalgic pop imagery. Drawing from a background in street art and illustration, Jones creates vibrant, layered compositions where familiar cartoon characters appear calm and meditative amid energetic, abstract environments.

Working primarily with acrylics, pen, and airbrush, he explores the tension between chaos and serenity. Balancing intuitive, free flowing mark-making with the stillness of his central figures. His paintings invite reflection on inner calm, escapism, and the search for peace within overstimulated modern life.

Through this contrast of colour, dynamic form and texture, Jones celebrates both spontaneity and control, emotion and restraint. Presenting a contemporary evolution of pop and abstract expressionist traditions. His works convey a deep sense of playfulness and introspection, connecting personal nostalgia with universal emotion.

“I love freely throwing paint down and layering as I go, watching how the forms interact to create a new world for a character to inhabit. Its a really satisfying and amusing process.”

“ I studied Art and Design at Richmond College, building a strong foundation across a range of mediums and creative processes. Rather than taking the university route, I dove straight into the art world with an internship at Portobello Road’s Graffik Gallery, where I later exhibited my own work and taught spray paint workshops to the public as well as corporate clients such as Facebook and Spotify. I now work as a professional studio painter, collaborating on large-scale projects for a well-known contemporary artist, honing my skills in painting at scale and working to exacting standards."
