Yuli Kejo

I work with clay, a healthy, natural and renewable material with which I feel perfectly in tune. I sculpt it by hand, without any artifice and I like to push the ecological approach to cooking ensured as much as possible by the energy of the sun.

My choice for this simple and natural material emerged in my creative exploration which materialized in a first series of works in fine chamotte.

My work could be compared to art brut, due to my training path being more self-taught than academic.
Away from the clichés of popular art, my sculptures (subjects, materials, techniques) are the subject of free and empirical personal choices.
