Gennady Vylusk

Hello, my name is Gennady Vylusk. I was born into the family of a famous monumental artist and teacher, and therefore, as a child, I absorbed a sense of love for painting in my father’s studio, which is why I consider him my first teacher. In my work, I combine impressionist and contemporary styles, using bold, confident brushstrokes to convey the natural beauty of the sea and forest ponds. I also enjoy working with still lifes and portraits, creating a sense of movement and tension that creates interest. The constant search for the interplay of light and shadow in painting pushes me to experiment in writing from thin multi-layered brushstrokes to impasto strokes of a palette knife for realistic texture. Most of my works are in private collections in America, Great Britain, Australia and Europe.

Studied at the Kharkiv Art School and the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Fine Arts under the guidance of V. N. Gontorov and E. I. Bykov.
