Oleg Katorgin

My name is Oleg Katorgin (Hermann Grott), and I am a contemporary artist, graphic artist, set designer, and illustrator. I was born in 1970 and have dedicated my life to exploring visual storytelling, both on canvas and through the theatre. Over the years, I have created set designs for theatre productions.

I studied at the Rostov Art College named after M. B. Grekov from 1985 to 1989. I then continued my education at the Institute of Architecture from 1991 to 1992. From 1992 to 1997, I studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatrical Arts. I currently live and work in Prague, where I continue to develop my artistic practice.

I have been fortunate to participate in numerous exhibitions, art fairs, and festivals, and to receive awards for “Best Set Design” and “Character Design for Puppets.” My artworks are represented in both museum and private collections, and I hope they bring the same sense of wonder and emotion to viewers as they do to me while creating them.
