Wheeshan Ong

Wheeshan Ong was born and raised in Malaysia as a second-generation Chinese. Today, she lives and works as an artist in a small home studio nestled among the woodlands of Carinthia, Austria. Inspired by nature, myths, fairy tales, and fuelled by a love for storytelling, she channels her vivid imagination into vibrant and soulful works of art.

Wheeshan began her artistic journey as an illustrator of colouring books. Over time, her focus evolved towards painting. At the core of her practice is a simple belief: that art is a celebration of the beauty of life. The feminie form lies at the heart of her work, serving as a vessel for self exploration, and as a reflection of the ever-shifting, fluid nature of the universe.

Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Thames Valley University (now the University of West London), graduating in 2000.
