Zuzana Lekesova

I am Zuzana Lekešová, an artist based in Slovakia. My work is defined by the search for an authentic PRepojenia (Re-Connection) between the inner world and the line. For me, every drawing is a form of Public Relations of the Soul—it is a tool to communicate complex emotional truths without words. PRepojenia is a process spanning over three decades, beginning in 1995, which served as a catalyst for intense personal and cultural ruptures.

The line is the main gateway to my personal visual language. The hand remembers what the mind forgets. Every vortex and every intertwined line carries encoded memories, symbols, and emotions. These elements overlap to create a visual harmony that mirrors my inner chaos and growth. I seek PRepojenia between the dark and light sides, chaos and control, and in every piece, I offer you an invitation into this never-ending dialogue.

PRepojenia teaches that true intimacy arises not from ownership, but from the courage to go together to places where few would dare to go alone. Allow my art to accompany you on your own path of transformation.

Zuzana Lekešová is a contemporary Slovak artist whose creative process, branded as PRepojenia (Re-Connection), is rooted in the therapeutic exploration of lines and symbols.

Although the artistic journey began in 1995, it was the decades of returns to her original drawings that solidified her understanding: the line is the essential path of her soul. Lekešová developed a distinctive style of intricate pen-and-ink drawings, which function as deeply personal, yet universally resonant, visual diaries.

Her early work gained media attention, appearing in the high school magazine Blesk and later featuring in the art section of the national daily newspaper, SME. This early recognition highlights the immediate impact and power of her developing artistic language.

Lekešová’s work explores themes of duality, emotional resilience, and the integration of internal conflicts, often contrasting raw, untamed energy with deliberate, controlled linework. This legacy of PRepojenia continues, as she is currently raising another artist—her daughter—who is already achieving notable awards in her own emerging career.
