Robert Crowther

Robert Crowther draws from a background in graphic design and children’s publishing to create striking acrylic paintings inspired by the Cornish landscape and the sculptural forms of motor vehicles. His style is highly graphic, characterized by bold, flat areas of color, simplification of form, and a playful interplay between abstraction and figuration. His compositions, often featuring night scenes and vintage cars, are infused with luminous contrasts and nostalgia, conveying a sense of wonder, connection, and the quiet magic of everyday moments.

Robert attended a pre diploma year at Leeds College of Art, followed by a three year graphic design (DipAd) at Norwich School of Art in the UK. From 1970 - '73 he completed an MA (RCA) in graphics.
