Yanina Rapatskaya is a transdisciplinary artist working with drawing, mixed media, sound, and performative practices. Her work investigates the tension between movement and stillness, the fear of time, and the fragile boundary between the visible and the invisible. She creates large-scale monochrome drawings and minimal structures built on continuous, intuitive lines that reveal internal states in precise, almost architectural forms. Rapatskaya draws inspiration from natural patterns, silence, and the emotional landscape of introspection.
She is currently based in Subotica, Serbia. Originally from Siberia, she studied Graphic Arts at the Moscow State University of Printing Arts, receiving her Specialist’s degree in 2014, and is now completing her doctoral research in art at the HSE Art and Design School in Moscow. From 2017 to 2025, she taught at the HSE Art and Design School, working across design, visual communication, and contemporary art.
Her work has been shown in solo exhibitions in Serbia (2024, 2025) and in group exhibitions at the Moscow Museum (2018) and the Moscow Central House of Artists (2017, 2018). She has also presented her research at international conferences in Finland, Mexico, and Russia.
