I embrace chance and spontaneity. I see beauty in being guided by it toward an unexpected destination — one that sometimes surprises me, yet feels unmistakably right. Freedom. Truth. Multiple layers.
Born in Warsaw, Poland, and based near the city, I work with form and image: design, sculpture, painting, and collage.
For creating collages, I use pages from my novel "The Great Black Square" ("Wielki czarny kwadrat"). Through a process of deconstruction, the words printed on the pages take on new forms as part of the act of collage, allowing the book to exist once again in a different material and visual state. Multiple works emerge from a single copy of the book, each redefining the relationship between text, form, and image.
For my sculptures, I work with recycled materials: old planks, wood shaped by years of exposure to the elements, rusted fragments of former structures, worn car parts, and discarded electronic components. Most of these materials are found in my own home or immediate surroundings. This approach reflects the idea of giving objects a second life, bringing order to the world around me, and working with ecological awareness.
