Lilian Orukwo

Lilian Orukwo is a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer based in the United Kingdom, originally from Nigeria. Her work grows from a place of memory, childhood, culture, and the quiet beauty of a more connected way of living.

Through bold silhouettes, patterned textile-like backgrounds, and fashion-influenced figures, she creates work that explores identity, cultural transformation, and the beauty of what has been passed down. Her imagery is warm, expressive, and shaped by where she comes from.

Lilian works across hand-drawn and digital processes. Her work is shaped by African studio photography from the 1980s and 90s, culturally rooted fashion, and her own lived experiences and emotions, creating art that holds memory, reclaims narrative, and feels unmistakably human.
