Xante Battaglia

Xante Battaglia (born October 1943) is celebrated, recently also in St. Petersburg, as one of the most important living international artists. Described as an "eclectic visual researcher," his artistic stature is compared to giants such as Fontana, Christo, Warhol, and Haring. Pierre Restany hailed him as "the only innovation since Duchamp," calling him a classical painter with a supermodern eye.
