Mahmoud Awaza

Mahmoud Awaza is a Lebanese artist whose practice is deeply rooted in observation, introspection, and emotional translation. Raised in the suburbs of Beirut, he developed an early sensitivity to details—light, color, human expressions, and atmosphere—which later became central to his artistic language.
Holding two master’s degrees in Interior Architecture and Landscape & Environment from the Lebanese Official University, Awaza’s architectural training refined his sense of structure and composition. However, it was through painting that he found a vital emotional outlet. Art became a personal space of refuge and confrontation, allowing him to face periods of depression and emotional heaviness with honesty and depth.
Through color, shading, and expressive abstraction, Awaza transforms inner struggles and unspoken memories into visual narratives. His works function as emotional mirrors—reflecting sadness, healing, and resilience—where art becomes not only a means of expression, but a process of restoration and self-reconciliation
