Catherine Rosario

I combine performance and writing with a new return to painting and drawing, with each bringing inspiration to the other. My current focus in art is on recreating both the liveness and energy, even amidst stillness, of creatures, plants and trees. I have found huge inspiration in the beauty of medieval paintings and stories, with their celebration of the natural world and all its marvels. I enjoy leaving a sketch or painting for a while and then returning to it afresh - to see it with new eyes - and to add that next layer of depth.

I am combining all my creative work under the umbrella of my new Chandelier Jelly Studios - the name of a deep sea transparent animal, which is both fragile and wibbly wobbly, and lives in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
