Ekaterina Galanzha

I am a scientist by mind and a painter by soul. My life has been shaped by curiosity, persistence, and a love of challenge. After many years in biomedical and bioengineering research, I felt a strong inner need to begin painting. Starting was intimidating, but I reminded myself that growth always requires risk.
I picked up brushes and oils, guided myself through learning, and spent an entire winter absorbed in my first landscape. It was not good, but it was honest — and it brought genuine joy when others recognized the scene I had tried to capture. Since then, painting has become a deeply personal and rewarding practice. What began as a personal challenge soon turned into a lasting passion.
I work primarily in oils. After exploring different styles, I realized that I am drawn most strongly to seascapes and landscapes. I love the rhythm of water, light, and atmosphere — places where movement and stillness coexist. My scientific background influences my art through careful observation and attention to detail.
At the beginning of this year, I embraced a new challenge — sharing my work with a wider audience. Whether in science or art, I believe that discovery begins with courage, curiosity, and the willingness to explore the unknown.
